What we offer

Purpose in every part of the day.

Teaching

Great teachers, using what works.

Nothing shapes a child's progress more than great teaching, so we recruit carefully and look for teachers who are warm, collaborative, reflective and deeply committed to every child in their care.

Our teachers are guided by the Thriveway Programme, ThriveEd's evidence-based framework for teaching, leadership and student development. It is externally assessed, and it focuses our time on the practices research shows make the biggest difference to learning.

Every child known

Classes of 25 to 30 children, large enough for real community and small enough for teachers to know each child well.

Restorative discipline

Mistakes are chances to learn. We help children see the impact of their actions, make amends and rebuild relationships.

Deep mastery

Focused support in Maths, English and Science builds secure foundations, with hands-on projects that make learning stick.

Curriculum

Strong foundations, toward the IEB matric.

In Preschool, learning follows a child-centred approach inspired by Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Charlotte Mason. Through the Preparatory School we follow the CAPS curriculum, building toward the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric in High School. Learning is rich and connected, with critical thinking, inquiry and 21st-century skills built in.

St Luke's College follows a three-term calendar, in line with ISASA schools, with breaks planned around wellbeing and learning.

Sport and culture

Included in your fees, open to every child.

Sport and culture build teamwork, leadership and resilience, so we want every child taking part. Core sport and cultural activities, including coaching, transport and catering for fixtures, are included in school fees.

Our Head of Sport, Hermann van Aswegen, brings years of premier league coaching and a passion for sport that is both excellent and inclusive.

Aftercare and holidays

Support for busy families.

Aftercare runs from 14:30 to 17:30 for children up to Grade 7, with a light lunch, a snack and supervised homework time in a calm, caring space. Preschool full day includes care until 17:30.

Early bird drop-off from 06:30 is available from Grade 1, and our Holiday Club, run by St Luke's staff, covers most school holidays with full-day supervision, planned activities and meals.
