In January 2026, a fresh breeze blows through the leafy streets of Bedfordview. On the historic Bishop Bavin School campus, a site that began more than a century ago as St George's Home for Boys, St Luke's College opens its doors, and with it a new era of purpose-driven Christian education.
St George's was founded in 1915 as a place of safety and upliftment for young boys. Over time its mission grew into formal education, leading to the founding of Bishop Bavin School. Now, under the new ownership of St Luke's College, this deep-rooted legacy of nurturing young lives continues, with a renewed vision for excellence, purpose and leadership.
As part of the ThriveEd family of schools, St Luke's College offers a high-quality private school experience at a mid-tier fee. At the time of writing, 2026 fees ranged from R56,000 to R75,000 a year, or from R5,100 a month over 11 months. From academics to sport and culture, students are immersed in a school environment where they can grow, achieve and thrive.
From Grade 0000 to Grade 9, with Grades 10 to 12 phasing in from 2027, children are guided by passionate teachers and a strong academic programme, building toward the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric with strong foundations in core subjects and electives in science, commerce, technology and sport.
